Hi, I'm Paul!

I founded The Special Effects Wiki.

I'm very much an amateur in the relm of special effects. But I knew it would be a major hobby of mine ever since I saw the movie Summer School as a kid. I have little to no artistic ability whatsoever, and make up for it by way of a massive repertoire of idiot-proof techniques, lots of research, and spending much more time and money on a project than what genuinely talented individuals would require. But that's ok :)

My most recent project has been to make myself up as my interpretation of the Shinigami, Ryuk (Ryuuku) from the manga Death Note. Most aspects of the project went well except for the silicone injection for the mask. Being a perfectionist, I decided to postpone the project until a future convention. Meanwhile I will rebuild funding and look into some additional reference material.
