In cosmetics, a highlight is a color of makeup 2 or more shades lighter than the base color. It is used to suggest or accentuate raised areas of the skin. With many types of makeup, a highlight color can be easily made by mixing the base foundation color and white makeup. The higher the ratio of white, the lighter the highlight will be.
